Joshua Cahn has been living in Jerusalem, Israel for the past year studying Talmud Law, Jewish History, Ethics and Philosophy, and uncovering the beautiful cultures that are so near. Before studying in Israel, Joshua lived and worked out of Washington, D.C. where he worked in the government and tech scenes, for clients such as the House of Representatives, AIPAC, Uber, the American Bar Association. During his time living in D.C., Joshua traveled up and down the East Coast for projects and to explore the landscape and architecture, from Miami to New York. Prior to moving to Washington, Joshua graduated with a Bachelors in History from the University of California at Berkeley with a concentration on the Creation of the United States and the influence of religion in this process. He has a strong passion for passion for using different forms of media to educate and to make impactful change. Joshua is very passionate about public interest, filmmaking, law, politics, media, and photography. He enjoys research, travel, and learning about other cultures, exposing himself to new points of view.
While studying at Berkeley, Joshua was very involved in the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), pursuing further interest in his passion for government. In his junior year, Joshua worked for the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) as Chief of Staff for Senator Ori Herschmann. During his senior year he worked as the Marketing Director for the ASUC Office of the Chief Technology Officer. While Joshua looks to combine his interests of law and politics with his filmmaking and marketing passions to create social change. With a strong background in research, Joshua looks to apply his skills in creating media (whether it be films, documentaries, photographs, or social media infographics) that bring positive change to the communities at large. While in school Joshua has followed his passion in filmmaking, specifically directing, cinematography, and editing. In the summers of 2013 and 2014, Joshua interned for the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California (ACLU-SoCal) working specifically on Video Production.
Aside from filmmaking for public interest and political aims, Joshua also makes short films anywhere from Psychological Thriller, Courtroom Dramas, to Dance Films. He is very enthusiastic about everything he does and brings a creative eye to his work. While in college Joshua has pursued his interests by filming various shorts on campus, in the Bay Area, and back in Los Angeles. Joshua especially enjoys cinematography and the craft of lighting and frame, but he has enjoys all aspects of the process. Joshua feels comfortable in any role on in pre-production, on set, or in post-production, ranging from Director, Camera and Lighting, to Producer or even Editor. He has a quick turn-around, taking lots of pride in all his work.
